Bringing Cape Cod to Kirkwood: A Coastal Granddaughter Launch Party Recap

For one evening, a little corner of Kirkwood, Missouri felt a lot like Cape Cod.

4 Hands/Peacemaker in Kirkwood was the home of the launch party!

The launch party for my new coffee table book, Coastal Granddaughter brought together family, friends, readers, and supporters to celebrate a project that has been a year in the making. What began as a personal photography project, a love letter to the place that shaped so much of my childhood, came to life surrounded by the people who helped make it possible.

Cape Cod has always been more than a destination to me. It's where my grandparents built a home, where family traditions were born, and where countless memories were made. Every page of this book was created to capture that feeling of nostalgia, connection, and home.

For the launch party, I wanted guests to experience a little piece of that world. Coastal-inspired details, stacks of books, meaningful conversations, and stories shared among friends helped bring the spirit of the Cape to the Midwest.

One of my favorite moments was watching people flip through the pages and connect with their own memories. Some reminisced about childhood summers on the Cape, while others were reminded of special places and people in their own lives. It was a beautiful reminder that this book isn't just about Cape Cod, it's about the places that shape us and the memories we carry with us.

Creating Coastal Granddaughter has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career. To everyone who attended the launch party, purchased a book, shared a post, or supported this journey in any way, thank you. Your encouragement means the world to me.

Cape Cod may be over a thousand miles away, but for one unforgettable evening, it felt right at home in Kirkwood.

I loved talking with other fellow Cape Cod lovers and hearing their stories.

4 Hands created the Best Day Ever Lager for the event. Along with other merch including Best Day Ever totes and hats.

Best Day. Ever! is a quote that my Step-dad, Dan, would say. Dan passed away from Alzheimers and it is our family's way of remembering his legacy. Dan was happiest on the Cape.

To celebrate everyone's story, I made East Coast, West Coast and No Coast t-shirts for the event.
